Q - Starting off... Can you each please state your name, age, what you do in the band and nicknames if you have any?
A - Kevin Savage 24 (Pie) - Vocals Brandon Savatt 22 (Zeek) - Drums Aron Shay 22 (Aski) - Guitar, Sitar, Piano, Synth Bill Govan 19 (Boom Boom) - Bass Coler Riffle 21- Guitar, Vocals

Q - As a band, are all of the members more like a close-knit family or just business associates with a similar goal?
A - We are definitely more of a close-knit family. We party together, we hang out together, we stick up for each other, we’ve have cried with each other.

Q - How did you decide on the name "Bonk"? Does it have a special meaning?
A - Well, there is really no special meaning to the name. When we first started out we had about 15 band name ideas and we thought that Bonk described our music the best.

Q - What music or artists have inspired you the most or influenced you to do what you do today?
A - We have been inspired by so many great musicians. Our influence has come from Death Metal, Hip-hop, and everything in between. I can’t even begin to list the music and artists that have inspired us in fear that I will leave someone out of the list.

Q - How would you describe the relationship between the band and your fans?
A - This is something that we take a great amount of time and pride in. We have met so many people in bands, both national and local, that treat their fans like shit. We would never do that. Our fans are everything to us. We hang out before and after every show and talk with as many people as possible. We party with our fans. We love our fans. In the last 6 months or so we started selling out places that we have played locally and that is only possible with our fans. Well, we rambled on about this long enough. WE LOVE OUR FANS. And our fans love us. And on a personal level. Why be a dick to people to begin with?

Q - What music or artists are currently in your CD player?
A - Atreyu, 13Even, AJAR, Miles Davis, The Beautiful Mistake

Q - What bands would you recommend that everyone should hear but has not gained the exposure that they deserve?
A - 13Even, AJAR, The Beautiful Mistake, BobaFlex, SIKTH

Q - How would you describe your live shows?
A - This is another aspect that we take great pride in. We leave our hearts on stage every time we play. We take it very seriously, but we have fun while doing what we do. The heart that is put into our music is revealed completely on stage. The crowd knows when you are giving everything you have, and when you are, they give it right back. We have created one of the craziest live shows around without any gimmicks or stage props. It’s just us, the fans, and the music. And I think I just ripped off Phil Anselmo. haha

Q - What bands would you one day love to tour with?
A - Damn, there are so many. We’re gonna keep this list reasonable. Sevendust, Blindside, Lost Prophets, The Beautiful Mistake, 13Even

Q - How would you say that your music and the band itself have evolved from when the band first started?
A - Well, I feel that the new material that we are writing gets better with every song. And the longer we play together, the tighter we get as a band. It’s almost like everyone in the band knows what the others are thinking.

Q - Is there any history or specific reason behind the song "Channel 58"?
A - There is a meaning behind every song we write. We would never write a song that wasn’t about something. 'Channel 58' is a song about a dream that I have had for a long time, in which I am restrained in a mental hospital. I think I will lose it completely someday and that the dream will be played out in real life. Whatever real life may be. One night while watching TV, the TV kept switching to channel 58 by itself. I’d change the channel back to what I was watching and it would turn back to channel 58. Eventually, the remote wouldn’t work at all, and the TV wouldn’t shut off by hand either. It was stuck on channel 58. There was a preacher on channel 58 talking about the sins I’ve committed. I thought that was the night I was going to lose it. I have been haunted by ghosts for a long time and sometimes it just gets too weird to take. '58 on the TV tonight, tells me that I should leave you tonight'.

Q - Is the band trying to portray any kind of message with the music and lyrics?
A - I don’t think so. The lyrics on this album cover a wide array of subjects. There are songs about life, death, society, racism, comedy, but the album as a whole is just reflection of self. I want to try to get people to think when they hear our lyrics, but I don’t want to preach about anything. I state what I feel and you can agree or disagree with what I’m saying.

Q - Do you have any thoughts or advice for people trying to start up a band or already have a young band?
A - Write music for yourself and no one else. Watch your drugs an alcohol.

Q - Any last comments or shout-outs?
A - Thanks to everyone that has supported Bonk. We love you guys. Someday we’re gonna put Kent on the map.
