Hey Paul, thank
you for taking the time to sit down with for this exclusive interview for our
website.
Q - First off, please state your name, your position in the band as well
as nick names you may have?
A - Well hello! My name is Paul Trinidad Jr. and I don't have any nick names at
this time.
Q - Where did you guys come up with the name "Love.45?" Is there a special
meaning behind it?
A - The name "Love.45" came from the movie "Love and a .45" which featured Renee
Zellweger in some of her early work in her career. The story line in the movie
has nothing to do with the band however. The only link is the name!
Q - How would you say that your music and the band itself had evolved from
when the band first started?
A - The music evolved as Danny Elster became more active as a lead vocalist and
songwriter along side with Mick Shivers. It also evolved quite a bit when we
have collaborated with producers such as 3 Doors Down guitarist Chris Henderson,
as well as Geoff Ott. We worked with those guys in Seattle.
Q - What type of music or artists have inspired you the most or influenced
you to what you do today?
A - We've been influenced by a wide range of music. Everything from The Beatles,
Foo Fighters, 3 Doors Down, Kiss, Journey, Cheap Trick, Prince. Stuff with lots
of harmony and melody!
Q - How would you describe the relationship between the band and your
fans?
A - Our relationship with each other is pretty cool because we have a great
respect for each other. We have our disagreements from time to time as any
family does, but are always able to work out our differences whether it's the
music or personal. We also have a great respect for the fans. It's always so
great to get to meet everyone at the shows! And as our liner notes in the CD
that is out now say.... To all love.45 fans- past, present, and future: Our
music will always be here for you, we'll never let you down!
Q - When the band first started, did you think you would have made it this
far and doing what you do today?
A - We had always hope so and what's always kept us going is the positive
momentum that you can create from putting in your best efforts and working hard!
Q - You guys have your new self-titled album and to be honest I think you
guys did an amazing job. I wanted to know what your favourite song on the new CD
is and did you have trouble trying to pick which tracks to add to it (if you
recorded a lot of songs beforehand)?
A - My favorite songs are "Way Down" and "Don't Ask Me". It was a smooth process
picking songs to record as the producers (Chris & Geoff) had strong ideas on
that already.
Q - Is the band trying to portray any kind of message with the music and
lyrics?
A - I know that Danny and Mick take their lyrics to heart and try to write stuff
that is catchy and meaningful.
Q - This is a two part question. What band(s) would you love to tour with?
How would you describe your life on the road and when you're performing in front
of screaming fans?
A - Well, we are just about to go on tour and we'll really looking forward to
getting out there some more! We will be headlining the next run of tour dates
but if giving a choice, it would be awesome to tour with 3 Doors Down sometime!
Life on the road is amazing as we always appreciate the opportunity to interact
with the fans as well as meet new ones! All of the driving can drive you crazy
sometimes but we usually read, watch movies, or play video games to make the
travel time seem a little faster.
Q - Well, thanks again for taking the time to have this interview and I
wish you the best in what you do.. Any last comments or shout-outs before we say
goodbye?
A - Thank you to The Music Appraisal for >being such a great resource and
covering all of the new music! I'd also like to invite everyone to give love.45
a listen! The cd is out now or we'll see ya on tour. Thanks so much!
