Mercy Drive - Mercy Drive

Hello everyone, I'm back again with another review, this time on an independent band who call themselves Mercy Drive. This Hard Rock trio from the Orlando, Florida area bring you their debut self titled album ready to blow you off the ground. The trio that bring you Mercy Drive are Jimmy McGlothlin on Vocals and Guitars, Jake Beard on Guitars and last but not least, Corey Lane on Drums. Now enough gloating on the band, it's time to review the album, but first...

For those who pay close attention, Mercy Drive also play WWE superstar Randy Orton's theme entitled "Burn In My Light", unfortunately, this track isn't on the album. Now onto the album, for real this time. The album kicks off with a powerful energetic track entitled "Away", which to some might find a trend of Puddle of Mudd in this song. The lyrics in the song are just amazing to listen to and the riffs of the guitars and hard pounding drums just make this track amazing to listen to. Then we skip a track and we have the ever so famous "See You Crawl", which to me should be the band's single, it's just outstanding. The singing starts off slow then kicks in near the chorus "There are people who love to laugh at you, see you fall, see you crawl...", those words just explain it all on how a lot of people have a hard time in life. This song has to be my most favourite of the entire album, just because it's an amazing song to listen to, and I can never get enough from it. Mercy Drive's hard rock trend continues in great tracks such as "Mindset" and "Follow", aswell as "Memory", a new version of the theme that is played for current WWE superstar Maven. Now we see a different side of Mercy Drive with the track "Promise". It is much mellower (if that's a word, if not you'll understand what I mean) and starts off real slow then picks it up a notch in the chorus, and this song is all about making a promise to someone, hence the song title.

In all, Mercy Drive have a lot of potential and hopefully a major record label will pick them up from where they left off after departing with Maverick Records a couple of years ago. I guarantee Mercy Drive are here to stay and before you know it, the whole world know will know exactly who they are and their purpose on earth. If you are interested to purchase the album, you can buy it off the band's official website (http://www.mercydrive1.com) and enjoy 12 tracks filled with energetic rock. I recommend this to everyone because after taking a listen to the album, you won't want to get away from it.
