Everyday Sunday - Wake Up! Wake Up!

Comprising of Trey Pearson (lead vocals), Jesse Counts (guitar), Dan Hunter (bass) and Chris Hines (drums), Everyday Sunday hails from Columbus, Ohio. Attracting a national audience with its 2001 Christian Hit Radio single, ‘Just a Story,’ Everyday Sunday has released two successful projects, “Stand Up” and “Anthems For The Imperfect”, while raking in numerous accolades, including being named among CCM Magazine’s “Favorite New Artists of 2003.” Also in 2003, Everyday Sunday made an impact as one of the Top 10 “Major Impact Artists” for Christian Hit Radio.

Recently signed to Inpop Records, Everyday Sunday releases their third record, “Wake Up! Wake Up!” on May 22, 2007. The album, produced by Ian Eskelin (Krystal Meyers, Stellar Kart, All Star United), features the new hit singles “Find Me Tonight” and “Wake Up! Wake Up!”, delivering the same diversity and solid pop sound that has come to define Everyday Sunday’s music.

Everyday Sunday’s basic composition fits the pop-punk mold quite nicely. Yet the band has found that extra something to differentiate them from the norm and brings this forth with their third studio album. The songs on the album are laced with infectious melodies, high energy vocal harmonies, backed by killer choruses, and rounded off with amazing guitar work. There’s the punk sounding tracks like ‘Apathy For Apologies’ and ‘What Were Here For’ that give the band a constant flow of energy. The album title track ‘Wake Up! Wake Up!’ is my favourite track on the album by far and has proved to be a smash hit. The band slows it down gracefully with the slow ballad ‘Tell Me You’ll Be There’ that has a something corporate ambiance to it. ‘I’ll Get Over It (Miss Elaineous)’ tells an emotional break up story, we all can relate to at one point in time. The album meticulously ends with ‘From Me To You’ which concludes this amazing album perfectly. The band couldn’t pick a better track to round out the ten-track masterpiece.

Overall I was very pleased with this album. It’s truly a breath of fresh air in the stuffy music scene of today. As time has passed, it’s evident that the band has been steadily progressing and maturing together as a unit. Be sure to give Everyday Sunday’s newest effort a listen as your ears will thank you for such a tasty delight!
